It's a turn-based combined arms tactical (as opposed to, say The Operational Art of War) combat wargame. It's fairly accurate, although they seem to give anti-tank missiles a bit too much credit. Basically it lets you pit any country from 1946 ~ 2020 in battalion - regimental combat. It's not as smooth as SP: World at War, but it does get the job done.
It's like one of those old panzer commander games, or perhaps a tabletop wargame in digital form.
If you like this kind of stuff, you probably know about this already though.
