This is a game i've been following longer than half-life 2, nearly a year and a half now. I was wondering if there is anybody else who is anticipating it as much as I am.

For those who do not know what it is... it is a massively multiplayer online game being developed, that caters to people with high end computer hardware, and will be very graphical compared to most mmorpg(usually of a lesser graphic quality than the latest games...). It focuses on life on the carribbean in the 1700's, and will let players be pirates/merchants/privateers, etc. Read about it if it interests you... it certainly does interest me.

:dozey: MMORPG's... I don't want to play $10 a month, I wouldn't spend all day building stats, finding stuff.

I'm not interested in the game, but I decided to take a peak at the website.

I found it interesting that they are using Steam as their primary distribution method. I wonder how many other games will be using Steam to distribute their game ideas.

Is that a game or a mod? I'm with ailevation, I won't pay for those types of games.

I think it is a game. They licensed the Vicarious Visions' Alchemy engine.

You know, if you cant afford £4 a month you should'nt even have a pc.

The reason MMO's charge is because the servers are f'ucking massive and are lag free.

I pay for 2 accounts every month for an MMO, i dont even think about it going out my account because it is such a small % of my cash that i hardly go bankrupt from it. I used to say "im not paying to play a game, what shit blah blah..." until i played one and realised they are nothing like a 16 player deathmatch or a 150 player jointops match or BF:V/BF:1942 match.

Btw i play neocron also check this out http://www.gamershell.com/download_6404.shtml

Anyway this game looks cool but i cant play two MMO's at the same time and ive been playing neocron for 1.5 years and i dont think its going to change, im h00kz0red. :p

I beta tested Neocron, was pretty good, but I didn't buy it when I came out. I've been playing Ultima Online for four years. There are some people who just don't understand the MMORPG and that will never change. They will always think it's a rip off.

I think Pirates Of The Burning Sea looks fantastic especially because I'm into MMOs, and due to the fact Sid Meier's Pirates! was/is one of the best games of all time, and got me interested in the Spanish Main at that time. It will probably turn out to be a flop just like all the rest, but we can always hope!
