Yep, I been to one before, in China. I had been to China last year and this year, I am going there too in December. Right now, Im concentrating on HL2 mods and when they will be releasing.

And anyway, have anyone of you been to Forbidden City in China?

In case you guys don't know and don't even know what the hell it is, well, here is an educated encyclopedia to help you.

And yeah, feel free to post comments on it.

Woah Coyboy.

Am I right in getting the idea from you're post that you're prioritising waiting for halflife2 mods before real life?

Yeah, I've been a couple of times.

And I went to Chairman Mao's mausoleum.

Also been to Lenin's. Any more mausoleums I can goto?

Come here, spend a couple thousand dollars on tourist attractions. Visit the HUGE gravesites of old (dead) kings of ages ago. Visit the 38th parelell's frontlines. See the bunkers and AA guns. Overlook the place where about ten thousand soldiers died (That counts as a masoleum, right? :p).

And I'm going there this summer, I think. I must prepare and arm myself.

I've never left the USA which saddens me.

I have lived everywhere which saddens me.

I hate you guys with your travelling, I've only been to Greece, Spain and Cyprus, this year I'm going on a trip through Russia hopefully though, and planning on visiting China in 2k7.
Huge fan of both Chinese and Russian culture here.:)

Definately goto Russia and China if you get the chance.

Nope. Been to Asia a lot, but not to China yet. Thailand ftw

I've been there, its pretty cool. And huge. I was there maybe 6 weeks ago. But beijing is incredibly smoggy....some bad dust storms recently. Make sure to get some peking duck.

I'll pop round sooner or later.

And isn't it The Forbidden City? It looks a bit lonely without the 'The'.

I drove around on a motorcycle when I was there. I could scrape dust from my face after every ride. I also had the uncontrollable urge to spit all the time because dust got in my mouth as well as the feeling of it being stuck in my throat. Very annoying things over there, dust and pollution.

Was one of the best trips of my life though. Slept on the chinese wall, walked over tien anmen and inside the forbidden city, ate all kinds of foods that I couldn't identify, learned to count with my hands using chinese handsymbols, talked about all the taboo subjects (politics, religion, women, drugs, money, ...) with lots of people, and did lots lots more, far too much to list here.

Awesome awesome times.

If you haven't travelled out of your own country when you're 20, your pretty pathetic IMO. Get the f* out.

Or, you haven't had the opportunity.
:|

Anyway, I'd love to go there. So far, I've been to Switzerland (briefly), Romania, England, and Scotland. I'm going to Spain next spring :D

That's a view of life I strongly disagree with. => :frown:

We're all equipped with two hands and a brain (well, maybe not everybody). You only live once. You should get your act together and decide these sort of things.

Exactly like being 20 and never having kissed a girl. If you haven't had the opportunity, "maybe" it means you haven't really tryed.

Some people can't afford it. There are far more important things to take care of than travelling.

Yeah I went a couple of years ago. Whoever said Thailand ftw, I wholeheartedly agree. I'm going to be living there for 12 months next year teaching. It's a strange space. I can't say i loved it, amazing architecture however. I found Tiananmen Square more interesting, particularly as I’m interested in the 1989 protests which ended with the famous 'tank man'.

I totally disagree. Travelling opens your mind to the differences between races, cultures and everything else that makes humans so diverse and interesting. Life would be hella boring if you stayed in the same town, in the same province/state/county for a great deal of time. I think there are few things better than travelling infact. And your comment on money. My 12 month placement is funded by patrons/funds/family members and fundraising through events. If you get off your arse and try to do something positive then you are likely to get positive rewards back. However if you just hit back at people who want to live more than sit infront of a computer you fail at life.

Travelling is pretty cheap if you shop around, the only hard part is organising things in advance.

I'd say that all my years travelling have opened my mind a lot more than if I hadn't. The world's a big place. I wouldn't like to be constrained to one place for too long.
