Just wondering, because there was a great documdramafictiomentory on FX about a small pox terrorist attack.
The name of the show was SMALL POX! Very original if you ask me, and the catch phrase for the show was "its all real, it just hasn't happened YET!" are you scared? I know I am.

So I decided to watch this turd, and to my suprise... It sucked.
It was actually comical because it looked to me like they were trying to pitch the idea of a small pox vaccine to everyone. They were like "oh it doesn't hurt", and people were smiling when they were getting the shot etc.

Funny that, cuz my dad had a small pox vaccine when he was a kid and guess what, he still has the scar, and tells me it hurt like hell. Anyway this show just pissed me off, it was blatent fear mongoring. You know what, this evil muslim boogy man thats going to end the world still doesn't scare me... Good day.

I'm deeply saddened that I missed this amazing bit of television programming.

Is it just me, or are you living in a dimension when the US wasnt around to prevent the USSR from making Europe its second home? If so, tell me how the vodka is over there.

Oh right, so the world owes the US something for how it acted during the Cold War?
And secondly, you can't really predict what the USSR would have done, their goverment switched leaders like there was no tommorow (a strong likelyhood) during the cold war. There was no real unified plan by the Russians (other than Marxist rhetoric) that wasnt aimed at having a defensive shield of 'friendly' countries around it to prevent an attack similar to that of Hitlers or Napoleons

To say the soviets were agressors is really baseless, considering that.

Stalin would have rolled over Europe.

Does the world owe the US something?-

Well, is it fair to just forget the last 50 years? Should we just erase it from the history books? We made a decision to protect our allies overseas, and that deserves respect. So no, the world doesnt owe us materials or soldiers, but merely respect. Thats not saying you can never disagree with us either, but uncalled bashing and the new Anti- American fad is quite disturbing.

Stalin died, plus, it was only a matter of time before the instruments below him decided to put poison in his food.

The respect earnt over history is worthy of recognition, but as of late, theres no reason to pay it- to say "We're evil now... but look at us 50 years ago!" doesnt mean you get respect from the world community

Helping donate to countless causes around the world is evil nowadays? How was removing Saddam a bad thing? Was helping in Kosovo wrong? Should we have stayed out of Somalia? Kuwait should have stayed under Saddam's control? Maybe SK would be better off without US troops to dissuade the North.

You're right, maybe we should be evil- by never lending a helping hand. Invade Iraq and Afghanistan, but dont assist in the rebuilding process. Laugh at the Indonesians as we sit on our money. Let Africa perish to AIDS. Forget balance as Israel is terminated from the map and oil prices around the world travel through the roof. Let the North invade the South and let China annihilate Taiwan. Let no foreigners study at our state of the art facilities, nobody is allowed to attend a US university unless they are a citizen.

Anyone can list all the good things the US has done, but examine the motives behind them, I assure you, the good of humanity is not the driving force.

Oh son of a bitch! I missed that! I have been meaning to watch it, but missed it! ARGH!

I hope they'll reair it.

From a realistic stand point...and I am not taking sides, but if the US didn't have most of there forces in europe watching the Russians...The USSR could have possibly rolled over Europe if need be.

Thats why they never really tried to attack and instead used politics to take over certain countries and made them satellite states.

No doubt, Europe was under threat of the Russians. American forces were a necessary presence.

But people really shouldn't kid themselves into thinking that we did so out of the benevolence of our hearts. The US viewed Communism as a major threat to itself and feared that expansion could eventually roll over to America or its neighbors.

While true, that doesn't mean that we shouldn't hold wrongdoers accountable for their actions.

There are ideals that we should strive for.

Yea I understand that...but I was mainly refering to her post about the US being "evil". Britian (just as other countries) has done many bad things yet America is the only one getting bitched at?

I only said "evil" to put a contrast on "charity" :p

Well...fine.My post was mainly directed at everyone saying "omg teh usa goverment is evil" and "wtfbbq the US is only doing that cause they want publicity and we are gonna bitch about it because america is the biggest target and we don't even see our own countries corruption cause our goverments are good and we think we know politics when in fact we don't".

Things like that...and now to back up that last statement.IF you did actually knew politics, then you would see the reality of it all...there is countries and people out there doing things just as bad if not worse than the US goverment.Damn how many times am I gonna say it...or all of you just blinded by your own so called "Facts" and "Beliefs"?Every goverment is corrupt...every goverment does bad things.Deal with it.

Rant over...for now.
