yeah your random threads are beginning to irritate me too. I'm sure all the families who lost people are happy to get over it in a month.cschaef13 said:I mean ok it was a big thing, HUGE. Super sad that it happened but its been 1 month. We have to get over it someday, i hear about it almost EVERY day on the news in BC, Canada. It's getting kinda irritating for me.
dys4iK said:I hate it when they talk about issues that affect the lives of millions of people for more than a month.
Grr, it makes me so angry! Damn them for wasting my precious, non-disaster-affected time!
Yes, we don't care. We just spent millions to buy pinball machines and prostitutes. [/sarcasm]Here in america, We dont care about the suffering of others. it hasn't been on the news for weeks.

Well when countries that dont have half the wealth we have pledge more than us (not saying australia) it does mean that "our" contribution is nothing. this is all aside from the fact that they will never see 350 million dollars ever, they may get half that if they are lucky.DarkSin said:350 million is nothing? If we didn't care, would we have given aid at all? 350 million is what the government is giving, what about the citizens of the US? Last time I checked, 350 million is a ton of money, do we always have to be #1 in everything? Just because another country out contributes us, doesn't mean that our contribution is nothing..
Damn straightburnzie said:Australia won at charity... and thats what really matters.
I dont underestimate the country I live in take a look at say, Russia who is still waiting to see the money promised to them so they could rebuild their economy after america came in and literally wiped out their industry?DarkSin said:You under estimate the country you live in. I'm sure they will get 100% of the money we promised. Maybe 350 million is all we needed to give? With tons of other countries making contributions like japan(500 million), and as you say australlia, how much money can we possibly spend? The amount of contributions has reached the billions, and i'm sure a disaster as large as this, will get the majority of the money promised. Just because the USA is a rich country doesn't mean they can always shell out a ton of money. How much money are we spending in IRAQ alone? Too much. How much do you feel like paying in taxes this year, or in future years when you're old enough to pay taxes? I'd rather not argue, but your negativity kind of gets on my nerves :|
DarkSin said:Yet you say ANY money. Please get it through your head that we have given 350 million to the tsunami aid. 350 million DOLLARS is not pocket change. That is more then most people make in a life time. Have you not heard on the news about our distributions from helicopter to the victims of the tsunami? We've already spent a pretty penny on aid already, 350 million is a fund, it is theirs already, we just get to spend it over a period of time. You're just narrow minded. You've made up your mind that we've given 0$ to the tsunami aid, and we don't give a rats ass about anyone but ourselves. There is no point in arguing with you. Whatever :rolling:

Hush we are fonzies now..ranga said:it is also worth mentioning that australia is much , much closer to where the disaster occurred, so the whole thing would have hit a little closer to home. This would encourage the government of australia to put more into the relief effort.

I guess you don't see my point. Just try and think about what I said. It's not hard to understand :upstare:Just because 350 million dollars is alot of money to you doesn't mean it is sufficient to help those in need
You twat, just because other countries are donating more than us doesn't mean we should donate less. Your point is moot.DarkSin said:I guess you don't see my point. Just try and think about what I said. It's not hard to understand :upstare:
I guess we should just agree to disagreeDarkSin said:Sorry Burnzie, Happy Days was before my time
