Well its software and hardware.........but yeah it was the wrong forum.

I had no idea you were a mod Sidewinder, did that happen recently?

Hmm... alot of talk about the game marathon...i cant remmber it...hmmm... i gotta do some reading on that :)

Download marathon 2 from the-underdogs.org (usually I have to type the address into google because the explorer can't get there by itself for some reason).

Keep in mind that the graphics are very dated and low resolution. But do pay attention to the excellent plot, sound effects, and level design. It truly is one of the best games ever made, but people are graphics whores nowadays...hence the mod.

Here is the direct link to the download:

hmmmm.....I was looking into starting a mod. Dunno about your idea though. Also why don;t u share with use what u actual skills u have. For all we know u might know **** all about games design etc... I was gunna start a mod and was looking for somone to start one with. But until them I am a mapper for CO:IN Infact I am gunna stay mapping for CO:IN and try make a mod along the side. Its just finding about 1-2 people to start one with. Without that a mod = nothing.

Well frankly all I can really do is map, and I really need a lot of practice, but after I beat HL2 I will devote a couple hours a day to really learn the intricacies of the SDK. Most of my mapping experience is from 2d games (coincedentally Marathon infinity) which doesn't require any 3d skill.

But I do use XSI (the free version) so I think I should be able to do mapping after I try for a while--I haven't done any since the original worldcraft for Hl1.

As a regular paint-and pencil artist I am very good.
Of course I could also do anything involving game/level design-plot development 2d overlays and menus and what not, story board sketches of plot pints that sort of thing.

And although I've never done it I bet I could be a texture artist as well, but I was thinking that the current texture base of HL2 would probably be perfect for the game anyway.

The way I imagine it, the finished product wouldn't be stand-alone in style or actual graphics. We'd use mostly HL2 textures (and a couple of the guns in place seem to mesh well with the Marathon theme), with entirely fresh level design and with Marathon inspired gameplay and story. i think it wouldn't be too hard if the team is large enough...
