Ok, I belive that the eVGA mobos don't support amd athlon 64 x2 dual core proc. I have tried everything to get my computer to run as good as it should, all the hotfixes and other stuff. Does anyone else have a eVGA mobo and a althlon 64 x2?

I was browsing newegg for motherboards and I wanted to find the best one, worthy of my machine, so I checked out this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813131568

This is the one I currently have:

If you look at the supported CPU types for the eVGA (the one I have) it says:
Athlon 64 FX/Athlon 64/Sempron

The asus sli-x16 deluxe supported CPU types are:
Athlon 64 FX/Athlon 64/Athlon X2

The eVGA doesn't seem to support Athlon X2. Would you say thats my problem, because all of the new games run like crap and there seems to be a major bottleneck. what do you think?

Have you checked the eVGA site for a new BIOS? All socket 939 motherboards support X2 processors out of the box, or with a BIOS flash.

I have flash the bios, didn't seem to make a difference

I have both

the free evga sli mobo that came with my 7800gt and a 3800+ x2

works great for me

I had to use the nforce drivers from nvidia though

I don't know, i hate to hear you say that because I've tried about everything to make stuff run well. i think I'm just gonna get this mobo anyway because its got sli-x16 and it's got more support for it... I'll be reporting back if it fixes it.

...here check out my uber FPS in Lostcoast; http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/3954/d2lostcoast00007lp.jpg

and then if I look like out into the ocean where theres not much to be drawn It will shoot up to over 100 fps. nice huh? :P

look on evga's boards for help, and post a new topic if you can't find anything, there are several evga employee's that help out over there

Ok, through posting at the nVidia forums I found that my power supply doesn't have sufficient watts, I have Enermax 535watts, for the specs I have, I was told i should have at least 600watts. So along with a new mobo:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131568 I will be getting a new PS. Probably this one: http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=PS...4239303eae2ab1fad3cc585cf3e31e3<br />9e6bf8d5

But I'm wondering. Could it be that it was my PS that was causing me me to have a Low FPS? I would think that if a PS was not powering the computer enough it would just shut off, crash or restart...?

NOt really afaik, a good brand psu like that shouldn't have worries supplying the needed power.
