I've run steam run _flawlessly_ ever since it came out from the beta days. But I decided to buy cs:cz and I installed it. I played cs:cz twice and then my steam account just decided to stop working all together. I will double click on it and it will open up, I'll put in my password, and then it will go to open up the games window and it will just hang and then give me an error message. I have the messages saved, but I am not able to get to them right now. I went onto the steam forums and did _every possible_ fix that they had up (even the linksys firmware update, if you're wondering). So my system is running spot less and steam still isnt working. So i decided I'd install steam on another system on the same home network and see if it worked. I got basically the same error message as before. This leads me to belive that this is some sort of network/internet/steam login because none of the computers (2) work now.

I support steam alot and I really cant seem to fix this problem. I was wondering if anyone else running a linksys router (I'll get the model in a few hours), Motorola cable modem, comcast internet has had this steam account rolled over and died?

Mine works fine(other then disconects.. which arent steams fault), what firmware are you running.

I think on the steam forums there are sticky topics about this.

If its passed 1.47... somthing it leaves this strange host message and kicks you off 10-30 seconds after you join. Get 1.47

that's why I encluded that. I installed 1457 on it (like the steam stickies said) didnt change anything. I did Everthing the steam stickies said and anything else i could find. Just thought I'd ask in a hardware forum before i made a post in steam forums

I know you said that, but _I want to know what you have on it right now_!

I currently have 1.457 installed on my router right now (as the steam sticky told me to do). I was looking for port info but I realy couldnt find anything. I checked my ports when I was trouble shooting and 113 was the only one close (the rest were stealth). I thought maybe this was the source of the problem because 113 is the IDENT port and is some times used for authorization. I'm thinking maybe steam authorizes cs:cz everytime you log on.

Now that I'm home, here are the error messages:
"Steam.exe (main exception): Win32 StructuredException at 012F6986 : Attempt to read from virtual address 0 without appropriate access rights.

Steam.exe (main exception): Win32 StructuredException at 01306986 : Attempt to read from virtual address 0 without appropriate access rights."

I mainly get the first one.

If you think the fact that port 113 is closed is the problem, How do I go about opening up a port?
