I've never heard of Ultra. I do however, find that as long as you buy a generic (or unknown brand) PSU that's a good 100+ watts more than what you need, you're fine.

I really have to say something about that baby avater, it so annoying :D But it rocks

Cheap PSU's are a serious no-go... aparently they blow up before their time, and they are loudddd...

...you really do pay for what you get, and putting in the extra money for a vital component of the PC is well worth it - look at an Enermax adjustable-fan-speed PSU - build quality is excellent and it's almost silent.

for once I agree with you Pobz

For everyone else, I bought a PSU from CCL computers for £20 (about $38) and it's a noisy POS. Also, if I turn my PC off, sometimes when I come to switch it on it refuses to turn on (and I know it isnt my case). If I fiddle about with the PSU for 20 mins it comes on... (hence I keep it on all the time).

wow you're right ...but do they have it in stock? it's happened to me before, I'll see a great deal on something, phone them up and they say it's either out of stock or back ordered...by the time they get it in it's priced higher

but you should take a look at the antec case I pointed out ...great PSU, great case and it comes with a 380 W True power PSU ...a good quality PSU. Also you can pricematch at Ncix and they'll do tigerdirect. Plus if you're outside of British columbia you dont have to pay provincial sales tax. I've saved a bundle ordering from Ncix cuz I live in ontario
