hi, if you need someone to create music for your mod look no further. just give me the setting for the mod and i'll create the best music for the setting and set the mood of the story.

WANTED could use you, if you get a chance go on AIM and IM me at SUPERJUANCHANGO. The mod is a western mod and we consider sound one of the most important things in a mod.

Would be nice to hear some samples :P

contact me on aim (itssh00p) and i will temporarily host them for you if they arent too large. or maybe pendragon will do that.

ori f they are pretty small clips (less than 100k) you can upload them like anything else.

They're ok. Is that FruityLoops?

yes, those were just samples of 5 minute songs because it would've taken too long to upload the entire songs

can you create medieval music, flute and old strings? anything of that sort?

What programs do you use? Have you taken classes or do you do it all by ear?

It's the Professional Edition of Fruity Loops, don't laugh, it's extremely powerfull

Duh.

I use FruityLoops too, though I change the settings of Plucked! and I use these things called effects. *glare*

Not flaming though, you've obviously got some skill.

If you can do looming orchestral things, slow and horror-ish (that would mean finding some samples online, the packaged FL ones are crappy), then I could seriously consider you.

I have yet to hear anything that came outta FL that sounds remotely good.. no offence, it's just that all FL tracks sound the same to me :(

NOTE: THIS IS CYLLERUION'S NEWEST AND DORKIEST NAME!

Nice work.
Can you use E-Jay to creat music for Mods ?
I wouldn't.

where can i find fl files online?
Ever heard of a .wav file? Any wav file can be used in fl. If you don't know what a wav file is then you should not be writing music on the computer. Or using the computer.

Thats because FL is so user-friendly that 98% of people that use it just click randomly and are like OMG I AM SO COOL! I MAED COMPUTARE MUZIK!11

Try anything by Fuego96, Toby, JasonC, or Pilch@rd. Google searches on any of those names should bring up their sites; a few of them are on ampcast i think. If you can't find it then post, I'll tell you.

if you need a music composer, contact me at [email protected], you can check my samples on the post "anyone need a music composer?" those are shorter clips of my songs, and i've made much better ones

You need to show these "much better ones" I don't understand it.. Why would someone say they've done much better of something, yet not show it to anyone *shrugs* so strange.

because all my songs are over 6.mb! der. besides i need to find websites that'll host a few songs for free. If you know of any, please post

Pendragon.

OK, Hl2Fan1687 - here are a few tips to get u up and running - mainly taken from experience. ;)

It's far more beneficial to upload your files and then announce your services, this way the viewing public get what they want, either from setting shop at a music community, blog or your own full-blown website. Good places to start for hosting would be IUMA or DMusic, MP3.com started getting a little to painful to use for me personally, with so many restrictions.

Then comes your portfolio, always put your best work upfront and don't make any excuses (Fruityloops is ..... etc), most people won't be too concerned how the music was made, they'll mainly concentrate on whether it's good or not. It'll be highly unlikely someone will say 'that's great, but you used Fruityloops so sorry pal'.

Next you need to put forward a wide range of styles, this is the crux point where a lot of musicians get stuck at - generally pop, electronica and orchestral are deemed the standards, much like any other discipline around here (there aren't too many 3D modellers here without a fast car, spaceship, robot, or monster in their stock). Of course the more eclectic stuff is always good to put in, this would be the stuff that should set u apart from the rest - so dust off that old vaudeville-industrial salsa track and upload it. ;)

Finally, comes 'service with a smile' most people don't realise how hard it can be to produce pro results on a limited budget, they just expect you have a 'John Williams in a Box' machine, where you just punch a few buttons and voila. Most people on this site mean well, and are just trying to help out. Musicians and sound designers are like gold dust around here, so people will most likely scrabble around veraciously gobbling them up, so it's also good to play it cool, the ball is going to be in your court most of the time, if done correctly, you should have the pick of the mods at your disposal.

It also helps if you can do some sound design, you'll be far more useful (and appreciated) and it isn't the greatest of leaps.

If I were you, I'd cast my eye on either upgrading to Reason 2.5, as at the moment it's ridiciously well-priced for what you get, or going the more professional route with Cubase, then getting a few VSTi's to get you going.

Here are a few links to get you started:

www.dmusic.com - hosting
www.iuma.com/ - hosting
www.kvr-vst.com - great music community
http://www.propellerheads.se/ - Reason Homepage
www.reasonstation.net - Reason Community

I am getting reason, after you telling me about it spinkitten.

I'm listening to the demo tracks now, they sound amazing.

Right now I've been writing midis in Sibelius 2 and then using the Eiderol Orchestra synth or porting them to FL.
