Anyone play Golden Sun?

I keep hearing amazing things about this game. Is it any good? Also what about 2?

I played the first one. It was pretty sweet. Surprisingly good for a handheld rpg. Haven't played the 2nd.

Its a very nice game, final fantasy style combat but with other stuff thrown in, the story is good as well. If golden sun 1 & 2 had been one then it would have definatly been one of the best RPG's ever.

i loved Golden Sun 1! i have Golden Sun 2, but i haven't had time to play it and finish the amazing stroy!

It's wonderfull if you wanna commit suicide.
This game is like maria golf advance, it has an incredible amount of totally useless, boring converations, and that is coming from a guy who thought the converations between rose and raiden in mgs2 were intersting. You have no idea what the game will put you trough, I mean how in gods name can you some up with so much useless text, how, how, and why can't you skip it.

Go buy mario&Luigi superstar saga, it's one of the best rpg's ever released for any platform, and if you don't necesairly need an rpg, buy Zelda±the Minish cap, apart from hl2 the best game releaed this year.

I'll have to agree with Grey on this one (who'd have thunk it) Golden Sun is a good game, but Mario and Luigi is excellent (up there with Paper Mario 1 & 2) Capcom did a fine job with Minish Cap too. It isn't quite on par with your average Nintendo Zelda (it's no lttp or 4 swords) but very good nonetheless.

Everyone knows Resident Evil 4 is the best game released this year though

If you're after an RPG for the GBA you could do far worse than Breath of Fire - a great little series

It's not about the amount of text, it's the incredible superficialness and uselesness to teh story, with the other gba titles I mention all the text that was there served a good purpose, was more then enough and in M&L it was even witty and clearly very thought through, but with golden sun, I just wanted it to be over to stop the torture, felt like the game just didn't allow me to play, but always jus twhen I though to myself. "yes I can finally play" there is soem other stupid text that makes no sense at all, and contributes nothing at all that get said, I mean it's nowhere near as horrible as mario golf gba, but still.

I like GS1, though I never beat it. I LOVE Superstar saga, though. It was a lot of fun.
