Hey folks

I was wondering if anyone else remembered a special Day One that might have been bundled with certain hardware packages - I can't remember. It wasn't the first few levels of Half Life, but instead different levels where you had to re-align a satellite and at the end a Garg breaks through the walls.

I lost the cd, and later was given one by someone who got it in a bundle, but it wasn't the same Day One I played, instead it was the first few levels of the actual game.

Anyone know of the other demo and/or where to find it?

That wasn't Day One, that was Uplink. Day One was the first few chapters of HL, and was bundled with some video cards or something. Uplink was a demo released after HL, with the satellite realignment.

yeah i did have the day one cd, it was just black mesa inbound, anomalous materials and unforseen consequences. but it still ruled, and blew me away, i was totally unprepared. it came with my maxi gamer phoenix voodoo banshee card, my first "3d accelerator card" way back haha

yeah man i remember that demo, it was pretty cool to play even though not that long, i like that garg fadeout ending lol
it basically just means you died on that demo no mtter what you did lol

Uplink rocked! I was hoping Half-Life 2's demo would be a similiar stand-alone mini-game.

Now there's an idea for a mod--Uplink: Source. But rather than just remake the original Uplink, it would be cool to see it "reimagined" to dovetail with the Half-Life 2 storyline.

Uplink is what convinced me to go out and buy Half-life GOTY edition. I had read reviews and all, but after playing that, I was so amazed, it was my first priority. The moment where the gargantuan came busting through made my jaw drop to the floor.

Wow i have to play this :P Dling.

i just played uplink, i'd never thought it would have turned out to be so cool, best idea for a demo ever all demos should be made like this, if i had not been playing half-life for six years i'd sure rush out to buy it even today.

play uplink everyone who didn't it's worth it and will kill 40 minutes of your day very nicely.
