Anyone seen this Link-v-Saxton Hale thingy?

Unfortunately Nintendo fans are waaaaaay outnumbering the Valve/TF2 fans from what I can see on the likes of the Facebook comments page for this 'match' and Hale seems to be in danger of losing... Is that something that's ever happened to Saxton before?

Who thought it was a good idea to match up an actual, long established character of many games with a non-playable comic character in the TF2 "lore"?
