I used to have Cable from Comcast and when I would download something in my browser (porn, demos, etc.) I averaged 400k per second.. and I remember going to DSLreports many times when I had cable and only had something like 800 down/ 200 up

Now I have DSL and i'm lucky to even get 150k per second downloads in my browser.. and DSL reports is saying I have 1mb down/ 700 up

So whats going on here? :(

:) nothing you can do buddy, you just ****ed yourself by making a bad move. Why did you switch from Cable to DSL!? I mean 400 DL rate is like,"DAMN THAT'S SO FAST I CAN'T SWITCH!"

700 up is good though, I got like 300 up or something 500, I dunno and don't feel like checking! Who is youe service provider? I've got Earthlink DSL and download something like 330-340 Kbps.

Spyware could be getting you bad.

Get Spybot Search and Destroy and/or Ad-Aware

It's not spyware, i'm always on top of things like that.

I had to switch cause I moved.. if I could afford Cable right now, i'd no doubt switch to it in under a second.

:hmph: Sadly, you're going to just have to cope with it man, that sucks 400K to a measly 150K. Hope you could find like a better service.

My Comcast cable rules. Whenever I download I get around 400kbps.

Nothing you can do Roger (i can call you Roger, right?)

BTW what is porn?

Bandwidth is reported in bits.
Mbps or Kbps

Speed is reported in Bytes
MBps or KBps

Notice the lowercase vs uppercase on the B.

1 MBps is 1024 KBps
There are 8 bits in one Byte so
1024 / 8 = 128Kb/s

When you had cable it was probably a 3MBps line.
~400Kbps * 8 = 3200KBps
3200KBps = 3.2MBps

However you look at it, 3MB to 1MB or 400Kb to 128kb, it's 1/3 the speed.
