Anyway to DL while playing?

Hey all, I guess as a feature to prevent lag, Steam has made it so that pre-loading pauses while you play games. I get crappy speeds and have fast internet so I think my pings will barely rise if I do both tasks at once and I need some CS now!!!!

Does anyone know if there is a way to pre-load while playing?

Yeah, I've noticied it too. I don't think you can disable it. Just leave it going when you're not playing games I guess, it'll finish faster.

I guess KagePrototype is right, it doesn't look like there's any way to play a Steam game while preloading/downloading content via Steam.

I think they do it to have as little bandwith pressure as possible from people.. If one people downloads and plays at the same time, it's not an issue, but if 3000 people preload HL2 and play CS at the same time, the load on the servers might go up quite alot. You'll just have to live with it.
