aoe conquerors question

ok, i have had age of empires: the conquerors for quite a while and i must say that it is a very good game despite coming out a few years back. lots of people still paly it online, me being one if them. the only problem is that now that i have a wireless router, whenever i am joining a game, the host cant start the game, and it gives me soem error message about masquerading systems and sharing blah blah blah. the only solution i have is to get the hosts ip address, exit the game, start up conquerors, and ip into the game. this is a pretty big pain in the ass, casue i would paly alot more, but its so hard to get in a game that actually works. now lately even when i ip into a game it still dosent work so pretty much now i cant even play at all. jsut wanted to know if anyone could help me out wiht this. any help at all would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I've had a router before.
Are you the main computer that actually makes the connection to the internet. Or do you have a LAN system that connects you to the main computer that connects to the net.

If you have a LAN system change it so you are the one connecting.
Else you have to mess with a ton of port crap.'

Something like that should fix it.
