applying textures? newb question

guys i cant for the life of me appl textures. am i missing something? ill select a brush then click apply texture and nothing happens.... ive tried lots of textures and the texture just doesnt apply, the brush stays 3d looking with no texture?

click on camera text at top left, and change it to textured?

heh i had that problem, though something was amiss when they displayed in the actual compile
