I heard that they're taking away MSN chat but not messenger, but some of my friends claim that MSN messenger away too!
Noo! My only means of talking to my friends when I don't have their phone numbers will be gone!;(
So, if they ARE taking away MSN Messenger, then why are they taking it away?

They wouldn't take away MSN messenger. That would be just stupid on their part. They have been in competition with other IM services for a long time now so I doubt they would suddenly abandon all that work.

I've had a similar experience with people I know, one guy at college was so sure of himself that the whole MSN service was being shut down, I quickly made him feel stupid.
However he's always trying to act clever and geeky on tech stuff but 99% of the time he's wrong.
E.g We were having some kind of discussion in ICT about long term use, he was so sure that long term use of computers resulted in lead poisoning.

LOL.!
Lead poisoning?

More than likely one of the reasons for killing the chat is to promote the use of messenger.
