" = inches, actually. ' = feet

This puts the thread in a whole new light ...

I'm hoping no one voted that they are less then five inches tall. (5" = 5 inches, 5' = 5 feet)

I still find unblieving that you Americans still didn't changed to the metric system...I mean, feet, BLARGH...

agreed, feet, inches, miles, pounds, etc... all are very user UNFRIENDLY grr i hate it

Some things always sound better in inches though :angel:

Ich bin 6 footen jahren haren

I don't know German :)

In the UK we are still imperial, I like it :)

I hate the US traditional system of units. The SI system is so much better. I hate having to constantly deal with pounds force, pounds mass, and slugs.

Still using imperial? :hmph: Are you living on the Isle of Sheppey or in Dorset or something Murray? :eek:

we're not completely imperial in the UK, more of a happy medium between the two i think. i still use miles for distance, stones for weight, feet for short distances, yards on the football field, meters when doing maths/science, kilograms when doing maths/science, millimeters when doing technical drawings, meat is weighed in pounds in most places...so it's a good mixture i think. it's just easier to say it's 'ten miles away' as opposed to 'it's sixteen kilometers away'...

i'm 6 foot 2 btw :)

No, Lincoln.......south of t'Humber

Well when i say "we" i meant that road signs are miles, most people weigh themselves in stones, height is in feet and inches, although i use metric for measurements at school :)

I should work for NASA, they like people that mix up imperial and metric ;)

us should switch to metric system, but we to proud to conform ;)

I'm about 5'11, but extremely thin. I only weigh about 123.
