I'm getting a little irritated by the missions now, I'm pretty for into the game.

It is just the same thing over and over again, go into an environment with loads of baddies, and use a not so easy 3rd person view to navigate around it with a cover system that's only good if they don't come up behind you. Then to DIE when you're an inch away from completing the mission to have to drive all the way back to it then do it all over again is a complete pain in the arse. I want checkpoints!!! And I want the doors in buildings to stay open and not flap about to block my view.

/Rant over. Off to free roam, lol.

I have to kill the diamond dealers in a Hotel, how far until the end of the storyline?

This mission took me a good 4 tries to do because I kept messing up, but yeah, it's deffo one of the ones that made me feel the same as you do.

Trust me, though, you'll learn the placements of the guys in no time then it becomes a breeze. I recommend the rocket launcer for the first corridor and the living room parts

Around that point of the game the missions get a bit samey, yeah, but there's a bit more variety to them once you get past all the shooty shooty re:
the diamonds
, and you'll have other non-mission things open up to you soon aswell.

The 3rd person view does irk me a bit sometimes, particularly when ascending ramps or stairs with enemies on either side of me. The cover I can only take in doses, mostly when I'm fighting multiple enemies at mid to long range, otherwise I'll just move freely and use crouch to duck behind cover. Neeeever use it when they're close to you, makes it so frustrating if one of them decides to jump you and you can't pop out in time. Also, way ****ing agreed on the doors, who the hell thought that would be a good idea? So annoying when they're on the other side of one during a firefight and you can't get it to stay open.

I really hope they condense the missions for the next game and make them a little more elaborate and involving. It's mostly go there, kill the baddies, come back, have cake.

Mid mission checkpoints would be nice, but as far as missions that piss me off the ****ing chase missions piss me off, mostly because you either CAN'T kill the enemy because of mission stuff or because they somehow became ****ing bulletproof and you've got to follow them until a scripted crash comes up.

I agree completely. I just got done doing Three Leaf Clover, which would have been an awesome mission if dying wasn't such a pain. It took me three tries to do it, and I had to drive all the way to where the action starts and then go through the whole long mission again. Plus, I bought body armor from Little Jacob after the first try, and when I died I had to do that again, too. To make things worse, one the second try my car caught fire literally on the SAME BLOCK as the mission end and I had to bail out... unfortunately my friends weren't so smart and ended getting blown up just around the corner from safety. I also wish Niko would run whenever the analog stick is pushed all the way forward and sprint when tapping the A button; holding A could be just a slightly faster run. That way you would never end up walking in the middle of a firefight when you want to adjust the camera. It would also make it so you didn't have to slow to a walk to look behind you. And the doors suck too.
