May be related:
All my shadows are square, regardless of the object. Sometimes, my grenade is a cube, and it explodes in rainbow colors.

Don't know why.

Hmm Video cards overheating tends to cause all kinds of crazy crap. Turn down your settings.

Settings were fine when I first got the game. Ran perfect with high settings.

I think my CPU was just overheating, and so what I have done, is taken off the heatsink from the CPU, cleaned out all the computer attracted dust(hate that crap), removed and reapplied thermal compound to the heatsink and CPU, and put it all back together. Should help things out, I hope!

That's the only one I've had too.. and it was only for a day or so, and it was only the sandbag on a roof at the southernmost flag on sharqi.

Omega. But if you have ATI, the new 5.9 cat drivers gave me a huge performance boost in BF2. I mean, huge. From going to all low settings and having a bit of lag, to doing 1/2 settings medium, and the lighting/shadow settings on low *instead of off* with NO frame loss. It's amazing.

Looks like a driver problem, I had the same thing on original BF1942 with Desert Combat. What kind of video card are you using?
