Never go into battle alone! EA’s new next-gen boutique development studio is changing the face of how people will play games. Delivering a groundbreaking strategic 3rd person co-op shooter unparalleled in the action genre, EA Montreal’s ARMY OF TWO focuses on gameplay centered around TWO man missions, TWO man strategies, TWO man tactics and a TWO man advantage.

[...]

From TWO man sniping to parachuting, players will experience action-packed scenarios where they will have to use their wit, strength and an arsenal of shared customizable weapons to successfully defeat their enemies and complete the mission at hand.

On or offline, players can seamlessly transition from AI to a live partner as they fight their way through war, turmoil and a conspiracy so vast it threatens the entire world. When one man is not enough, it’s going to take an army of two to save us.

Features:

  • “Two Man” Gameplay – Co-op is no longer a mode, it’s the game. Players must undertake TWO man mission using TWO man strategies and tactics to ultimately create a TWO man advantage that no enemy can withstand.
  • Partner AI – ARMY OF TWO delivers intelligent partner AI (PAI) that will interact, adapt, collaborate and learn from their human partner. The PAI will also react and adjust to the gamer’s ability and how they play the game by taking the lead or following, driving strategy or taking orders. It is the dream of the human machine.
  • Customizable Weapons – Customize and upgrade dozens of deadly weapons and share them with your partner off or online.
Dynamic Environments – EA’s Montreal game studio is working to deliver realistic character and environmental effects including fluid dynamics that showcase an open-ocean water-wave simulation as well as physics based animations.
  • Contemporary Storyline Ripped from the Headlines – ARMY OF TWO will captivate gamers with a politically charged storyline, centering on the impact and ethical issues of Private Military Corporations.
  • Online Gameplay – ARMY OF TWO redefines TWO MAN online gameplay with players seamlessly moving from PAI to live players as they make their way through the game.

Rest of the screens can be found here.

Looks cool. I like the idea of it being based around coop.

Xbox 360 only?

Looks like it could be awesome! I want it for the PC D:
The first screen on the boat going towards the aircraft carrier looks pretty damn epic :O

Ok, we get it involves TWO men. But other then that, the screens look 'meh'.

I'm waiting for the guys claiming this will suck because it has good graphics.

Well, they look decent here and there.

EA really think they will "change the face of how people play games" with just a Coop game thats only for Xbox 360 and PS3? And if this is next-generation, its the worst graphics a next generation game can have. Its not like EA invented Coop, many games has Coop...seems like they are just making a big deal about it to build up hype for console fanboys.

I'm not a fan of EA games either, they usually suck. Especially their third person action titles like Bond.

However, this game has a good concept and decent graphics. It could very well be good. Sounds like a game that would be worth renting and playing through.

X360 and PS3.

Fail. EA can go to hell. Why can't anyone make co-op games for the PC? Even console games that had co-op originally lose their co-op when they get ported.

I'm intrested. In all my co-op expeirences (which, to be frank, is Halo and Halo 2) there doesn't seem to be much innovation other than you clear areas of enemies much quicker and you're even more unstoppable. I hope this game actually gives a meaning to other player being there.

I like the way they look. If those soldiers ever busted through my window, I think I would instantly shit my pants...

I would sure hope so... if not, then it defeats the whole purpose.

What is up with that guy's arms in the second screen? Omg, they're tiny :/

Nah, those are triceps, not biceps. Dude's ripped. Those would even be fairly large biceps for someone in real life.

Yeah, the guy in the back is, but the guy in front... like sticks! am I seeing that wrong? The tattooed guy, facinh the camera.

Meh, graphics look like crap.

TBH, it looks like sprites : /

sounds pretty cool, not sure about their getup though tbh :/

Is it just the images resolution, or is AA/AF turned off in this game?!?

It's clever and it looks cool, but I dunno.
Meh.

.bog.

Agreed - it'd be nice to have a more specific role to fill when playing co-op.

I'd like a game that was deisnged to be experienced only in co-op (a little like 4 Swords). Say a fps in which 4 people pick a class and wonder off into huge gameworld and do their thang.

If it turns out to be a good game and/or sells well i'd be suprised if it doesn't arrive on the pc. This is EA after all.

I think it looks pretty cool. The guys remind me of the main character from Manhunt which was fun and scary. Could be great....

With those masks they look like 2 wrestlers blowing shit up.
And I mean from one those american wrestling competition where everything is fake and they all look like dressed up cartoon characters, the ones where Hulk Hogan was Popular.
