Could i just ask what everyones opinions on his being governer of California and as to whether he is doing a good job or not. It has been a while since i heard anything at all from the news interms of how good or bad he is.

seems alright to me...but i think he was better suited playing Terminator

Honestly, I haven't followed his decision making processes in enough detail to make an accurate judgement, so the following answer comes without backup. I think he's got some good ideas, and some bad. He's got some good ideas about some seriously needed reform (gerrymandering, for example), but is up against the rest of the entire state politicians for whom these districts (or other ideas) work. Somewhat like Jimmy Carter when he got to the White House and saw all the s#it going on and tried to stop it - it was the right thing to do but was career suicide. Arnold as governor won't be able to make some of the changes he wants for the same reason. My mom retired from working for the state in Sacramento when he became governor and all she remembers is waiting for something to happen. There is no doubt that the California state legislature needs some lovin', but it'll take more than a charismatic governor to do it.

think hes just coasting, i would like to see a detailed list of what he has done, what changes have been made, and how do they affect california. if their all positive, then gj

All i remember about him was when he was giving that speach at the graduation and everybody started booing and the professers turned away from him on stage, that was kind of funny though, but my opinion is that he sould have sticked to the mov...never mind.

I haven't heard any complaints, which must mean he is doing an incredible job.

interesting:

In February 2004, he declined amnesty to convicted murderer Kevin Cooper who had asked him for clemency in his death penalty sentence. Nevertheless, Cooper's planned execution was stayed by the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals pending a revisiting of evidence. Austrian Green Party spokesman Peter Pilz later called for Schwarzenegger to be stripped of his Austrian citizenship. Pilz claimed that Austrian law forbids any Austrian citizen from taking part in or ordering executions

just weird:

While Arnold Schwarzenegger's height was always believed to be 6 feet, 2 inches (1.88 m), a July 2002 article in US Weekly magazine speculated that Schwarzenegger was actually closer to 5 ft 10 in (1.78 m). During his campaign for governorship it was noted that Schwarzenegger was considerably shorter than many expected, with others putting his height at around 5 ft 10 in (1.78 m), exactly as reported in US Weekly. His spokespeople now give his height as 6 ft even (1.83 m). Assuming his height was ever closer to 6'2", it is possible he may have shrunk slightly with age, although four inches seems too much to lose by the mid-fifties.

Just so you know, the Ninth Circuit is the most overturned Federal Appeals court in the country. They have rendered some of the wackiest decisions known to man.

So he is doing very well, he seems to be the perfect leader and the perfect politician. He can see views from both sides and doesn't favour parties but ideas, which is how it should be. If only more politicians were like him.

As I am sure you assume of every right wing politician.

All in all, I would love him as a canidate in '08. I think the Dems are worried he would win an easy victory though. He would demolish Hillary.

So what is he doing wrong then in your eyes? I have never heard or seen anyone reporting him for corruption or political favouritism or being a nutjob.

And Arnold, as far as i can see, has no handlers and which Republican handlers would hire a Democrat to be in charge of an Environment agency...

He can't, no foreign born can run for President, and the democrats would fillibuster any bill to stall it from getting an up or down vote to pass before the '08 elections.

Exactly what I meant. The Dems wont allow him to run, they are petrified. In my mind it is an outdated law. No real need for it anymore.

Yes, considering how many people in America are immigrants.
