arrests violating free speech rights

All under the reasonable time place and manner clause.

Authorities can arrest protestors for any reason other than the content of their speech.

yeah, not without charge, some way or other, but that sadly isn't always the case...
5 women participating on a peaceful protest rally, reading the constitution being handcuffed and shoved away, without any mention of any kind of charge at all, even after specific requests -really.

Where were they? What time was it? Did they have a city permit?

These questions should be answered by the court. If they have a problem, they should sue the government.

If it truly was a violation of civil rights, the courts will repeal their arrest and whatever law caused them to be arrested. If not, the arrest was legal under the reasonable time place and manner clause.

Well, then read the link...if you really think there was a just cause for the arrest, then why would they arrest, for god's sake, elderly women wearing pink for reading the constitution out loud on (what appears to me to be) a rally, while another demonstration group with neo-con supporters was granted free stupidity, but then not even naming any charges at all? They could have alleged they were disturbing public peace, but nah, those police-state mother-wackers wouldn't even care doing at least that.

I'm not saying the arrest was just, I'm just saying that if its not just it will appear in court.

They were probably violating a city code. Sometimes the codes are constitutional, sometimes not, its all dependent on circumstances. Generally, if these people were in an area zoned as a no-demonstration zone (private property and a certain distance from abortion clinics or government property), or at the wrong time (they didn't have a permit), they can be arrested for demonstrating.

Furthermore, "prison planet" is hardly a reliable news source. The article is biased, and gives no information or evidence for support. If you don't have a credible news-source with credible information, then any discussion of this story is completely pointless.

I'm just going to take a guess here that the women reading the constitution did not have a permit to do so, and that the pro-war group did. But I will garuntee that they were not arrested on the basis of message.
