"A luxury cruise line will re-evaluate whether to offer future cruises off the coast of Somalia after pirates attempted to attack one of its ships early Saturday.

The pirates were in two small boats and were carrying machine guns and a rocket-propelled grenade when they attempted the attack on Seabourn Cruise Lines


The ship, she said, immediately instituted its emergency response system. "The occupants of those boats did not succeed in boarding the ship and eventually turned away ... our captain and crew did a terrific job taking responsive action."

Passenger Mike Rogers of Vancouver, Canada, said the pirates were shooting and sending rockets at the boat."


pretty stupid of them to try to attack a cruise ship with what amounts to a couple of row boats :laugh:
 
heh, tried attacking a cruise ship!!

It happens quite often still in some mediterainian places etc, usually smaller ships than this are attacked however, like some rich couple with a yaught will have everything nicked, have their boat set on fire and if they are lucky dumped somewhere or released for ransom. (quite a few are killed)

Damn pirates!!!

They managed to scare them off with a firehose, and a sonic boom making device.

hehe i read about that, although aside from the pirate's trying to board a cruise ship in two small boats part. Its actually quite serious, I heard some people got hurt.
 
One crew member got shot, but survived.
 
those weren't real pirates, those were some immigrants with machine guns.

These Pirates sucked, they couldn't even take down a cruise ship, a Privateer could totally take down like an aircraft carrier, with his hands tied behind his back and his balls in a vice, and that's on a shitty day... stupid f*cking pirates

Every year, millions of dollars are lost due to cruise pirating. Money that should've gone to the captains, sailors, maintenance workers, and owners of cruises. Men and women who will eventually lose their jobs to this awful business. Please, for their sake, don't pirate cruises. I'm J Nightshade, telling you that I do not support piracy.

The RPG they fired onto the ship didn't even go off, just made some debris from the impact...

If they had just Boarded the ship they would have taken it 'Hook Line and Sink her' (ahahaha!)

But i laughed when i heard it, images of big hats and hooks for hands.
