Hey, I'm in a club at Carnegie Mellon University called the Game Creation Society where we basically build video games in small teams from the ground up in a semester. These games are then hosted for free on our website:
www.gamecreation.org
And at the end of the year we present them to industry leaders and the rest of the university. One game to come out of GCS that was very successful was Boom Blox for the Wii.
I am the leader of the team making RocketPod, a top down, 2D space shooter and trading game.
My team consists of me and two other programmers. We have very little artistic skill between us. I can make sprites of mechanical and astronomical objects quite easily, but I suck at drawing people.
I was planning on having a set of 100x100 avatars representing people talking to the player in-game next to the message box.
Could anyone with artistic skill perhaps help me out?
What I need:
100x100 square avatars of the face and upper torso of the following people, and they must be in the public domain.
1. Ship's computer: maybe stylized "robot", or anything really.
2. Frantic trader: A man or woman wearing futuristic clothing in a state of panic.
3. Friendly trader: The same man or woman, this time looking friendly.
4. Pirate: A ragged, possibly cybernetic person wearing rag-tag clothing and sporting a mean grimace.
5. Police unit: A man or woman looking official and wearing some kind of head set.
6. Military unit: A man with a crew cut who looks quite mean, wearing a sterile military uniform.
What you will get out of it:
Your name will be featured in the game's credits, and your art put into the GCS's repository for future game developers.
