Hi,

I have just installed an Artic Accelero S1 Rev2 cooler on my MSI 8800GT. All has gone well except putting those T and L shape plastic bits in, if you have installed an Acellero S1 you'll know what Im talking about, otheriwise click this link to see the instructions: http://www.arctic-cooling.com/downloads/installation/installation_Accelero_S1_rev2.pdf

If you look at Steps 6 and 7 you can see these plastic bits are there to kinda fasten the top half of the cooler to the card, so its not "hanging" and just having the four screws doing all the work.

The thing I cannot get these little guys in, you need hands the size of a new born baby to get in there!!

So my question is, are these compulsory? Ive seen a video on Youtube (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=FhWeGxnY1ss) and that guy does'nt seem to use them either.

I've installed the card and monitoring the temps as we speak. So far idle temp is 52C, before it was 59C so it looks good. Although I heard it takes time for the Arctic Silver 5 I put on the core to settle in.

Oh and you should see the crappy thermal grease MSI put on, it looks like foam and was all over the place!! Had to use alot of ArticClean 1+2 to clean it all up.

Played COD4 for half hour and load temps went to 77C, thats 7C more than when I had the stock fan on at 100% :-(

Wonder if I didnt put enough Artic Silver 5 on? When I put the cooler on I took it off and saw the Arctic Silver 5 wasn't covering the entire core, could that be it?
