For some strange reason this happens after a while when playing CSS.

A really bad example, its gets a lot worse. Overheating, bad drivers ?

Overheating would be the main cause. Are you overclocking your graphics card?

Ok what are your computer specs then? And do you have good airflow through your case? When was the last time you cleaned the dust out of it?

If you find a flesh artifact, put it on your belt. It gives a +200% health boost.

Seriously though, could be a graphics card crapping out, or your ram tripping balls.

Try updating your drivers anyway, but that does look like overheating. Empty your case of dust and check your airflow as dek instructeth thee. Otherwise, it's time for a new card most likely. Update your drivers and check your RAM with a memtest utility before going that far though.

Yeah recently my card has been overheating at idle. I'll be getting a brand new computer soon. Had this one for 4 years.

I got a amd 3400+ 1GB ram and a 6600gt. There is lots of dust inside i assume, I havnt opened the case in sometime.

I'm going to do a memtest and update my drivers

Had mine for two/three years really needs to be scrapped but its all i got until I go uni.

The experts, which I am not one of, would probably tell you at this point that you really should open your case and get rid of dust since dust causes overheating and this is most likely an overheating problem. However I'd be a hypocrite if I said the same because the inside of my case is dusty as hell since I can't be bothered to clean it properly.

I was in the same situation until 2 months back. My old Radeon 9800 was artifacting at stock speeds after one modest overclock attempt. Of course my case was full up with grit and shit like an hourglass, so that might have been adding to it.

Anyways I bought an x1950 512Mb AGP and now it's all sweet enough to lick (bar the dust).

The memtest shows no errors when I ran it however when I changed one the settings I got loads of errors.

About cleaning the dust, I will be doing that in a few days when I get my can of compressed air.
