ASRock K7S41GX

What exactly are your problems with it? Some info on error messages etc would be a great help :)

I see that mobo you've got also has an AGP8x slot. I highly recommend even just buying a cheap graphics card man- onboard's tend to be crappers.

Exactly, on board graphics will never be able to run a video game. The feature is really only useful for 2D use.

Yeh its also good if your gfx card dies too, something to fall back on to order a new one on the net :P

aight.... do you know any canadien website where i can get cheap Video Cards "9200, 9250 or 9600pro radion cards"?

Here is the list that has been compiled in the sticky thread in this forum. I had a look at some of the websites, and they seem to offer good prices for the 9600 card range. I also saw that on tigerdirect, you can get a 9800pro for $170 and its a perfectly good card to play most of the games out just now. The only game that it seems to struggle on is Doom3.

the only good thing tiger direct sells is the 6800 ultra 512mb, they sell it cheaper than anywhere else.

At least right now, only doom 3 takes advantage of it. I'm sure an upgrade on the source engine will take advantage of it. Unreal 3 will also use 512. Can you say super high res textures? I'm so tired of all the low res environment textures and weapons in hl2, and i dont like the non-bumpmapped third person weapons.

doom3 has no use for 512 mb , look in benchmarks, there is no advantage in fps or in hi res.
only some maps on hl2 makes some 2% advantage.
when unreal3 goes retail, new gen of cards will take stand.
so it is no use to spend more cash on 512 card for now.

That's what I heard too. I'm not sure if you can see a big difference in real life though.

I have seen benchmark results with 256mb cards and the same card but with 512mb and there is a very small (less than 5fps) increase in doom 3 ultra high setting, so its not worth getting a card with all that memory until it is really being used. Also there was no performance gain in other games from using a 512mb video card.

Doom 3's ultra high setting is made for 512mb frame buffers.
