Assassin's Creed is coming to the Xbox 360. It's one of those secrets no one is supposed to know about (like Halo: Forerunners) yet everyone does. Sources close to Ubisoft have informed us that the game will definitely see release on Microsoft's platform -- even though the company still refuses to admit the game's inevitable multiplatform fate.....

...Yet, at last March's Game Developer's Conference, the tune had changed, with Project Assassins being shown as coming to both Sony's PS3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360. An internal memo leaked with Ubisoft's in-house upcoming list of games (a list that was later revealed to be 100-percent legit -- at least based on release plans at the time) clearly displayed Assassin's Creed (Assassins) as a multiplatform game.

Assassin (PS3, Xbox 360, Rev, PC, PSP)

the rumour seems more substantial than most ..I think this was the only game at this years e3 that made my want a ps3 ..but now that it may come to pc ..I see no need (I'm sure there'll be tons of other great games announced for ps3 before release ..AC was the only one I really really want)

oh and I'm not all that surprised because very few games remain exclusive ..it's just that it's nice to know it's coming to pcs

Cool, I hear Creed is supposed to be a good one coming up.

Although, wtf is Halo: Forerunners?

I know what forerunners are in the Halo universe but from the way they said, "Halo: Forerunners" it sounded like a game coming out.

I tried googling it but all I came up with was more lore on the Forerunners and fansites.

ya, I wasnt questioning that you didnt know who they are ..more of linking to an article so that someone could shed some light for us

I'm glad about the possibility of it coming to the PC.
Medieval weaponry + Hitman = goodness

Wow reading that article Stern (about Halo) made me realize just how shitty that series' plot is. Or atleast the intelligence of whoever wrote it...

The Floor Cleaners are a race of aliens referred to in the Halo universe. A lot is known about them, although certain things can be ascertained from hints located in the games and books.

The human alliance known as "Twilight Princess" exalts the Floor Cleaner, even considering them Pokemon, but it is not known whether this is an earnest belief or simply religious propaganda spread by the PokeGods High Prophets. In the novel "Halo: The Buddy From the Future", it is revealed that the Pokemon received much of their technology from Macgyver. Indeed, the High Prophets, who are part of the alien federation's leader caste, evolved on a planet formerly inhabited by the Forerunner.

Huh?

Yeah, obviously the people who wrote Marathon and its sequels have no intelligence.

What is Marathon, a movie, book or game.

the best game ever made

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marathon_(computer_game)

it's the inspiration for Halo ...it's the holy grail of mac gaming

"the game places the player as a security officer dispatched to respond to a distress signal sent from the enormous human colony ship called the Marathon, orbiting the newly colonized planet Tau Ceti IV."

sound familiar?

I never understood why Marathon was made for the mac. If it was released on the PC, it would have been a fairly sizable hit.

Probably because the Mac wasn't getting much gaming love back then. Still doesn't to this day.

it was released for pc ..at least Marathon 2 was ...oh and it was made for mac because at the time bungie was a mac only developer. Halo was supposed to be a Mac exclusive

It'll probably be like Splinter Cell. Originally an X-BOX exclusive that eventually got ported directly to PC while the other two got watered down versions. Seeing as it's Ubisoft, I predict exactly the same for AC.

i hope there is somone agree with me
when a game become multi-console it's going to be bad
i prefer it to be exclusive

I don't think the ported versions will be changed much because both the 360 and PS3 are on par with each other as far as graphics goes. Also, i'm sure the gameplay will stay the same across all versions of the game.

I agree, especially since they started developing the game for 360 first.

Assassin's Creed (or 'Project Assassin,' as it was formerly titled) was also announced for the Xbox 360 at X05.

I agree with someone who said that exclusives won't be as prevalent this round because development costs have gotten so high that by limiting your game to one system, you are really limiting your potential ROI. I think this will be a timed exclusive though, or maybe even exclusive to Sony to announce and advertise for now and when the game comes out it will miraculously be for the 360 etc. Who cares really--the game will likely rock!!

All I've seen so far was the pre-rendered movie, so I have no idea if I'll like the game, but judging from the trailer, I really love the way it will look, but I'm not sure this game will be for me. I'll have to see some gameplay.

Stealth games are really not my thing, and I also didn't like their previous game "Prince of Persia".. although to be fair it looked great. I only played it for about 10 minutes in the store, but just .. didn't like it. I hope AC turns out to be great.

Im not at all surprised. It seems many games are exclusive to one console, but all available on pc. Like Halo.

Of course it takes forever for us pc gamers to get the game, and usually its in crap condition.

Considering the E3 demo was running on a 360, this doesn't really surprise me that much.

I'm not surprised by this at all, the teams consists of devs from the Splinter Cell team and the Prince of Persia team, both of those series have gotten a substantial amount of ports :p

That was a rumour. It was running on a PC.
That backed up by any fact or is that just a deduction? I read on about 8 websites that it was running on 360, though, I still find that impossibly hard to believe that Sony would be showing off the Assassin demo on a 360, whether underneath a curtain or not. I was just wondering if it was finally disproved.

Deduction. Unfortunately, none of this will ever be proved beyond a reasonable doubt on either side. For now its all hearsay and rumours on the Net. Facts are hard to come by. I am 100% positive that it will be released fro the 360 as well, along with the PC. This exclusivity and the talk surrounding it all points to timed exclusivity. So what if the website says PS3 and nothing else? It will say more later, have no fear....
