Anyone know when Asus is gonna put out their P5AD2 deluxe motherboards? I pre-ordered one and I would like to know when it'll be out. I can't wait to put together my sweet PCI-X system.

This board has a few PCI-X slots. ;)
hehe

It's on backorder here.
Premium version here.

btw
PCI-X = 64bit PCI slot
PCI Express = what you ment to say

hope that helps

lol...owned. and why are u wasting money on a pci-e rig so early? pci-e is an infant!

I want a rig that I can upgrade easily in the following years - something I only have to put a new processor or a new video card in, cause i don;t wanna buy a brand new rig that's gonna be completely obsolete in a year or two

Well if you plan to upgrade in the future, buying a CPU, GFX and 100$ board isn't such a bad deal if you get a system now that gives you great performance.

If that platform gives you that performance then go for it. If you would like other options then you can easily pick up a A64 or P4 system now and save you that 100$ today so you can spend it later. heh

Well, it's actually my first desktop system (I have an Alienware laptop) and I would like to make sure I don;t have to upgrade really for a while

well itll be obsolete anyway cuz btx will be in effect by then.

There is the performance differences you will be looking at.
925 and 915 are the chipsets on the new Intel platform with PCI-Express.
2.8GHz 'E', 3.2GHz 'E', 3.6GHz 'E' and even the 3.4EE were tested on that platform.

Compares it with the 2.4GHz 'C', 3.4GHz 'C' and 3.4EE Pentium 4 on the 875 (Current) platform and the Athlon XP 2400+, Athlon 64 3800+ and FX-53.

They all used a Nvidia 6800 (NV40) based card clocked at 400/550. Either AGP or PCI-Express depending on the system.
