Asus to build PhysX boards

This is the Novodex tech behind UE3 right ?

Yes it is, but Ageia is striking a deal with the creators of Meqon and Havoc so that the card will be optimised for their Physics Tech. In other words, playing HL2 again with more FPS when physics processes occuring

That's assuming Valve maintain their implementation of the Havok code. (I guess they will).

Still, isn't the Havok code tweaked a lot for HL2 ?

I remember they said something like they used Havok 1 at the start and had something like Havok 2 at the end (dev hype, I know, but still..)

They took the Havok code and massively modified it and worked with Havok to make a very very nice physics engine, this did help for Havok to make Havok 2.

do the next gen consoles have ppus?

Don't be silly.

Perhaps in the next next generation i.e. when every man and his dog has one in his PC.

sounds quite gay really considering ppus are coming out soon. why would they not use them.

Because these consoles have been in development for longer than the beginning of E3 and therefore can't really change their arcitecture to accomodate a new piece of tech. Which, by the way, has only just left the development stage and is now entering the production phase, as this thread states.

I hope I haven't used too my homosexual words.

Wait... does this thing plug into a PCI slot or something, or is it built into the motherboard?

lol, no your homo count was fine, but doesnt the ps3 etc have tech that is awhile away from being available for pcs anyway? im no techhead btw.

PS3 don't need a PPU ^_^.
Xbox 2 could use it :|.

The next-gen consoles have enough raw power to deal without a physics processor, without adding on the additional cost it would involve.

Well with an interview with the Ageis guys at TeamXbox, who asked that question, they just said "Wait and see at E3"...

From the press conferences it would appear they aren't included.

diluted: It's like a graphics card, plugs into PCI-E (1x and 16x depending on which you have)
