at a dead-end in water hazard?

Dangit...I was doing so well, and now I seem to have come to a dead end in water hazard. It's soon after one of the automatic saves in water hazard. I am in the waterboat get to a T -intersection. On the right of me are two large boats blocking the waterway. On the left is a closed gate. I end up backtracking and cannot find any alternative route all the way back to the start of the autosave.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious...maybe I should eat something to replenish my energy, too.

Im in a area before that, im inside, just after you fall on a huge stack of barrels and there are 2 spaces, but you for some stupid reason cant fit through them ( in water)

Check for an opening along the side wall. I can't tell for sure if it's the same area I got stuck in, but I had simply missed an opening.

I have done this section over and over.. I will go back near the gate and see if I can find a small opening

I think you need to go into a building and lower the boat on a platform in the middle of the floor.

You need to backup from that T-intersection. Look at the two boats from your 2nd screenshot, do a 180, and take a left into the boat yard. There's a wooden dock on the left with an over hang above it. There's a door with a lock underneath the dock balcony, shoot/knock the lock off and proceed to find a switch to open then gate from your 3rd screenshot.

I found a valve in that shaft, it raises the water level. Climb down the pipes and its in the middle on a big brown pipe. Turn it, then go back into the big room, go down under the water and then there is a big tunnel to go to the otherside. Watch out for the razor robots!

I'm stuck at the same point as Danger_Diabolik. I've back tracked as suggested but still have no idea what to do.

Any one got a screen shot of the door underneath the dock balconey?

Mother of God! Don't you people know how Google for a walkthrough? It would be FAR more helpful to you than trying to describe each part of the game you get stuck on, waiting for replies, trying them out, finding out everyone thought you were up to a different part of the game, and going back to square one, untill FINALLY you try the door you didn't bother trying in the first place! And then going 5 more minutes into the game and getting stuck again, and starting a whole new process going!

...it just occurred to me that I haven't played Half Life 2 for several months now! Also, is this really everyone's first time playing the game? Where have you been?

Anyway, if you found the dock, the door is staring you in the face. Those boats in your way are meant as a block, and the path is not through them. As for the other section, I was lost there for some time because the valve you need to turn is fairly hidden in a bundle of pipes. In that room with all the barrels where you are attacked by the manhacks, get yourself up to the ledge/walkway along one side of the room (you may have to stack some barrels). On the other side of the corridor on your right is a ladder and a bundle of pipes. In there is a valve that'll raise the water level, allowing you to use the tunnel below the grate floor in the previous room.

Are you guys joking? I have never seen that. I remember that I do nothing and simply snack in to a pipe near the side wall, it is not as trouble as that.
