At&t blocks $chan

Already posted just a few minutes ago, but thanks for providing sources. This thread is better already.

Well that's kind of shitty.

I'm an AT&T internet user and it is indeed unavailable. Although I never go there so I'm not really feeling personally affected, it's still something I'm against of course.

That IS big.

Not sure how I feel about it. On the one hand: yeah, it's the internet and people should not be restricted to what sites they visit for recreation. On the other, I'm surprised no large corporation/governmental body has taken any administrative actions against /b/ until now (as far as blockage goes).

Does it even matter when /b/ is the worst part of that ****ing site anyways?

It's also the most active.
At&t better prepare for an absolute shitstorm.

This is definitely a violation of censorship, and whether you folks like it or not, a lot of people visit /b/. Those affected won't be taking this lightly, as we know how much b-tards like to stick up for their daily fix of retarded content.

It's only a violation of censorship if no rational argument is made by AT&T. I'm still waiting for their response.

They've completely denied blocking 4chan and completely avoided any of their customers' pressing inquisitions. Either they are trying to buy time to devise a suitable argument for the block, or they feel no need for a reason at all.

It's no secret that the major internet corporations like comcast and AT&T are enemies of net neutrality. They have been fighting it this whole time, and me and over a million others are fighting back, writing our congressman, donating money, sending emails, winning court battles, and holding them at bay - for now.

Despite their track record, they could have a legitimate reason for it. It could be temporary, and customer service may not have the proper information yet. I'm sure we will find out very soon.

**** 'em.

This be Censorship.

This is an enemy 4chan cannot fight by normal means. This actually has to be done legally.

Something MUST be done. Every board is in terrible danger.

^^^ Obviously a private company is not going to ask a user for permission to take away website privileges. That was a bogus question.

Um what? Read the question again carefully. They admitted to censoring the internet, however, they seemed to have misunderstood the question to be honest.

Yeah, I guess it was more of a misunderstanding on their part.

edit: Even then, if a private company decides to deny service, they are not obligated to request the consumer for anything. A notification would probably be in order, sure.

This has already lit up Reddit and SA. Interesting to see what the all-powerful Anon does now...
