I love dogs, I can't believe how anyone could poison one, let alone 15,000.

Don't humane societies kill stray dogs all the time?

EDIT: Don't get me wrong. I love my dog. And this news really sucks.
 
thats really bad. id adopt one. why the hell do they have 15k stray dogs in the first place? the only place ive been with that many dogs is tijuana. god knows what china is going to do to when the olympics get there.

When the Olympics and World Cup were held in South Korea, the Korean government put out a request to its citizens to kindly refrain from eating dogs while the foreigners were in the country as it might upset them.

Are you serious? Dogs don't spread diseases no more than you do. Hell they even don't spread many diseases that are harmful to human. Greek wants to get rid of them cause they're idiots.
 
Call me scum but the dogs are just a pest, possibly worse than rats and cockroaches, which people kill all the time.

Its like foxes here, people go "awww, aren't they cute lets save them all" but then one comes along and eats your cat, knocks over your rubbish and digs the garden up...Not so cute anymore.

Dogs are great, until one nearly takes away the use of your ankle (That didn't happen to me, just someone i know)

I have 3 cats :D

The fox hunts get the more rural foxes, which generally go for farm animals like chickens.

Of cource! Now it all makes sense! Flea-bitten feral animals do not spread disease and the black plauge was all a big hoax! Its finally comming together!

Animal control officals all over the world who destroy strays on a daily basis are idiots and have been decieved by the black helicoptor people!

To each their own...I just prefer canine companionship.
Feline are just to standoffish for my tastes - maybe they just know I don't like 'em.
 
Cats can be very communal (probably not the right word but it sounds right) animals, just look at Prides of lions. As i stated, we have 3 cats and together with the rest of my family its like one big group. Its not just about where the food is coming from, its beeen shown that cats pick up personality traits from their owners and create a bond with them...That is, if you show them affection beyond giving them food.

Anyway, enough about this....Back to killing dogs.

And for the record my two cats are being really ****ing annoying so I could use some of that poison...

I don't think dog's fleas spread plauge. I think it's only rat fleas that do that.

WOW they took my plans and improved on them. I really hate dogs! Ive had to put severial down. ( :) ) evil things dogs are! They scare the cows and try to eat youge calfs.

Wile 15XXX is a bit to much at one time. (Think about all of the bodies laying around)
 
Time Magazine had an article about this situation some six months ago. IIRC (which is iffy, I read it 6 months ago) there are 4 stray dogs in Athens for every one person who is helping with the olympics (includes athletes, trainers, helpers, etc).

This situation started when several athletes were training in Athens were bitten by some stray dogs while they were running. They were not seriously injured, but a lot of pressure has been put on Athens officials to control the stray dog population.

I believe China is going to have the same problem too.

I hate the Oympics personly, but many of those stray dogs have diseases and are very aggresive. Not all of them but some of them.....I love dogs so Im conflicted here.
It has upsides and downsides. oh well...whats done is done

It easy to kill a dog if its coming towards you.

1) shove your hand down its throat make sure you get down to about your elbow personally iwould try to get my hand out the other side.

2) grab both of its front legs and pull apart sharp and fast.

While i dont paticualry know how there gonna do it, or if it's going to be fast.

But start up the BBQ its doggy stew woof woof!
 
I'm sure the dog will casually stroll up to you :rolleyes:

besides they go for the jugular so you wouldnt have time to react. A friend of mine has a police dog (it was trained for riot control but was too agressive) I've seen that dog take down a 220 pound police officer and dislocate his shoulder in the process.
