This isn't really news though. New news anyway.
Thought everyone sorta knew this.
AMD is putting everything on socket 754,939 or 940.
Socket A is only kept alive by customers buying and chipset/board makers releasing new revisions.
AMD has stopped improving on Socket A.
 
After how many years?
It was a good run all on the same basic core.
 
:O Are PCI Express products going to be cheaper than current AGP products(I.E. Motherboards, graphics cards)?
 
Nothing different for the cards but possibly for the motherboard since there are a lot fewer traces and maybe layers.
I don't think it will be noticeable for the end user though. Cheaper for the board manufacture, yes.
