I as well as a few others have installed the new drivers from ATI's website only to discover I can't see any video while playing files in Windows Media Player... I only hear sound. This also affects Real Player playing Real Media Files. Not sure what other players/formats it may affect.
The Solution: Go into options and under the performance tab, turn the "Video Acceleration" down from full.
This is also true for Real Player.
I don't know why this is, but this is how you can fix it.
Not sure if this really hurts video playback performance much if any. I don't notice anything. Maybe it eats more CPU resources?
Hope this helps some people.
