Will The Ati 9500 Pro outperform Ati 9600 Pro in HL2 Benchmark ?

Both are DirectX9 cards

9500 Pro has 8 pixel pipelines vs 4 pixel pipelines for The 9600 Pro !

What do you think Guys ?

It can't outperform it, since you posted this in the wrong forum. :p

I didnt think the 9500 was DX9.... I thought it started with 9600.. oh well

No, Really !

yea it probably will with the more pipelines...

but the 9600 is based on the 9800 architecture and is more efficient... :)

therook

I have a 9500 pro, and I assure you it is DX9. I don't know why they made the 9600 pro 4 pixel pipelines.

Oh well. I should feel lucky I got one when I could.

Good Point !

I Guess DirectX9 implementation in 9600/9800 is more efficient then in 9500/9700 !

But It will be close...

because it would basically be a 9800 when they overclock it...

therook

(praactically the same thing other than the pipelines and the clock speed!)

9800 non Pro has 4 or 8 pipelines ?

Because the 9500 was owning to much and nobody was buying the 9700 cards

the 9800 non pro has 8 pipelines the only difference between the 2 is the clock speeds...

you could overclock a 9800 non pro to a pro spec or you could flash the 9800nonpro bios to a 9800 pro bios and it would just up the voltage going to the core and the memory and bring the clock speed up to 9800 pro speeds :)

all you might need to do is add ram sinks to the memory and possible change the cooling on the 9800 non pro to give a bit more coolness :)

but the main factor is what memory your card has... the lower the memory access times on your card the better so the 9800non pro "best" memory speed you could look for is below 2.8ns

(SDA - Standard Disclaimer Applies.
if you flaxsh you bios you COULD BREAK YOUR CARD.

DOING THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRENTY ALSO!
YOU CAN ONLY BLAME YOURSELF FOR DOING THIS!)

if your do decide to continue search good for making a 9800 into a 9800 pro

that should hook you up!

it was owning so much was because they figured rather than make another card with 4 pipelines in they just lowered everything and left 4 disabled... and thus the geniuses of modern technology sorted it so they became enabled and thus the 9500pro to 9700pro softmod and hardmods appeared :D

GENIUSES!!!

I own a 9500 Pro, and After seeing Valves Benchmarks I was Really how the 9600 Pro outperformed all GeforceFX cards in DirectX9 Full precission !

actually 9500 Pro outperform 9600 Pro in almost every single benchmark .

yea they 9500pro does outperform it but the architecture on the 9600 is better than the 9500 which will make it start coming into its own with directx and direct8 combined...

its like saying the nvidia 5200 can run all directx9 features while it can run them it has the stuff it needs in real life it cant because its just not powerful enough!

oh and in one of those benchmarks the one where the 9600 races ahead of the others is a FPS/$ so its making a comparison of how many frames per second your getting for the dollar and the reason why its so high is because it gives godo frames per second and its a GREAT! price!
