First off, let me apologise if a thread like this exists. I did a search and found nothing relevant to my problem.

During the stress test (which I run to check speed of diff graphics settings) sometimes the reflective surfaces on the spinning glass and wet floors reflect purple. I am running a plain vanilla ATI 9800 Pro, with Catalyst 4.9 drivers and latest directx. Any thoughts? I was running at 16x12 at med (default) settings without AA etc. enabled. Just for $hits and giggles I thought I would try 16x12 max detail, etc. but I have also had the purple thingy happen at res 640x480. What gives?

Thanks in advance for any feedback. Cheers!

I have the same Problem on my 9800XT, dunno why it is, maybe try emailing ATi?

I get the purple stuff on the stresstest using 800x600...no other :p Weird stuff!

hapens with nvidia cards, too. (i get it on my 6800gt after alt-tabbing a few times)

well at least i'm ahppy now that it's not only ATI. but it's weird. Contact valve or distributer. Not ATI, since it's not an ATI problem.

I get it too once in a while :p Source is very buggy, hope the patches come soon.

change your relfection setting to another setting, this should "reload" the reflection thingie and itllf ix it. works for me every time
