I never get the control centre, it hasn't worked in the past and it adds nothing helpful, so there's no point.

k, ctrl panel is fine for me too. :)

Thanks for the info and also the link, sounds pretty impressive! Not sure if I will get a performance boost with my card, but its just good to be upto date.

OMG I'm still on 4.11!!!!!!
( i don't actually play computer games anymore, for several months)
I might have to consider upgrading soon though, for some reason.
Make the most of my x800xt pe when i occaisionally play.

Is there anything the Control Center does more than the Control Panels (I have the Control Panels) other than the fancy interface?

I don't think so, fancy interface and more awkward install is about it.

That article about the 5.6's seemed too good to be true. 15-20% performance increase on Doom 3 etc?? I wont be able to download these for few days, so if anyone really does get a performance increase like that, let us know.

I'm running high quality 1024x768 very smoothly on the Doom 3 demo, no slowups or anything either. I'm gonna try using some AA later and see if it still runs smoothly, I know that the high quality setting in the game automatically has AF (I think 8x I can't rememer) so I want to see if I could get the AA even to 4x.

If you want to get 4xAA, i think you have to change the doom3.cfg file so that it uses 4xAA, since as you said, high quality mode automatically enables 8xAA. I might install Doom 3 again, just to see how it runs on a nice new fast hard disc!

No I said high quality enables 8x AF (Anisiotropic Filtering) not AA (Anti-aliasing). I don't even need the AA though because I can't pick up and jagged edges at all, 1024x768 with no AA seems to be enough in this game for me.

Sorry my mistake, you are right.
