ATI coupon - Am I in trouble?

A few min ago, I regristrated my coupon at ati. When I had the last page up, ready to print, I notied that I had typed abit wrong info. I clicked back, corrected it and submitted again. This time it refused my key as it had already been registrated.

I couldnt find the page back in history or anything. I recieved a mail from ATI saying I registrated successfully, but no link to the page. There shoud be a simple way of solving this, as not everyone type everything correctly at first, and many people dont have printers connected to their computers.

Sendt a mail to customer support, but thought I'd check if any of you know what I can do.

Grateful for any answers. Thanks.

no idea if your are in trouble now, just wondering why you register @ati and not within your steam-account.

I don't have a steam account. Not all HL2 fans are CS addicts you know :D
What would be the difference if I did?
Supposed I would have to do the same stuff and send them countless copies of this and that with signature and all.
Actually I assumed I would get a key that I could use to DL and activate HL2 with when it released.

wth does registering with steam have to do with being a cs addict? anyway the reason you are supposed to register with steam is because it is more safer for you, you can retrieve your password by knowing the email address or you can retrieve your email address by knowing your password. and steam is what you need to play valve's games online...

Steam is required to play HL2. Nothing to do with being a cs addict...

i always thought you had to register the coupon on steam any way

Im aware of that, but what I meant was that all people who play CS got steam accounts. Most people who dont, dont got steam accounts. See the picture? greeeeaat.
Meant no offence.

I don't play CS and I have a steam account in fact I have 2 thanks to the ATI coupon, but I play DoD.

Ya, why not. I sure its gonna get rejected tho :\

Email ATI and explain your situation, that works wonders on some companys (make sure you use the same email that you registered with).

wasn't it if you registered your key with ATi they sent out a physical copy in the mail? But email VALVe and ATi.

Steam is only needed if you buy HL2 from steam or want to play a multiplayer game :p.

ATI dont want to make it easy to get the game.
This is what you have to do:
-Photocopy of the Half-Life® 2 Coupon showing your activation key code - exposed

-Original UPC (bar code) or the full product name cut from the ATI or Partner product package (Photocopies will not be accepted)

-Photocopy of sales receipt with the qualifying ATI or ATI partner 3D graphics board purchase circled

-Completed Fulfillment Order Form

I mean, who keeps the package? Hope I have it somewhere.

Always keep packaging and dockets untill warrenty expires :| you never know what will happen to your gear *or your HL2 key hehe*

i keep those small packages(like the ones form vga's) a lot longer, just to store stuff inside them(screws, antistatic-bags, placeholders, manuals, etc..).

at least i wouldnt worry about any trouble, just add a small notice to the photocopy of your voucher, saying that your accidently mistyped it on the ati-registration form.

btw, ordering hl2 from ati will take a long time, so be prepared to be one of the last ones to play hl2.

offtopic but
i remember reading some long time ago that there will be a version of HL2 to purchase which does not have any kind of multiplayer or any mods available with it - only single player.
Is this that bronze edition ? well i know it has css, but will it be possible, say... download a mod and play it online?

No, the single player SKU doesn't exist anymore. Those were planned when sierra was the publisher, so they aren't valid anymore.

So the silver edition only has <HLS , DODS and that catalog which im not sure what it is>, as an adition to the bronze?

sort of. if you register your voucher fast enough, you will get the back-catalogue(minus cs:cz, and which is nothing i would ever allow to waste my hd-space) too, so the things you wont have is dod:s(which will take a very long time to be finished, according to their faq) and hl:s(which isn't something i'm eager to play).

i'll wait till the release of dod's, just to compare the retail-price of bare dod:s to the costs of a silver-upgrade. still there are so many highquality ww2 mp-games, even a free one, so i donnot know if dod:s will be worth the upgrading. 've to wait.

edit: back catalogue is the former "valve premier pack"(minus cs:cz).

You do realize that it will take 6 to 8 weeks for them to send out the boxed copy to you, but if you put it into steam you will get it the instant it is released?

Tbh, I thought that I would get a key so that I could DL it through steam.

However I will download it the day its released, so I dont really worry too much. Having a physical copy is nice. I ususally buy really good games and just play the good games.

LOL yeah, anyway I'm not sure how the heck he managed to register the CD-Key online with ATI. I have a 9800XT and I put the key into my Steam account a few weeks ago just to make sure I'm all ready for Half-Life 2, as soon as CS: Source is released I'll be able to play the full version, same with Half-Life 2. I thought you only went through ATI for a retail boxed copy that you had to send away for through the mail... I don't think its possible to register you CD-Key online anywhere on ATI's website and be locked out of entering it into your Steam account.

yeah, there are some strange statement on the official ati-voucher site so me avoided to register it there completly. perhaps i'll register and send in my stuff after ive played trough hl2 several times, just to be on the safe side :). perhaps i'm kind'o paranoic.
