ATI Driver Problems - New Installs.

'lo all,

Everytime I install a new Catalyst driver ( ie one on top of the initial one that came with my comp. ), things go horribly wrong. The install runs fine, I restart and suddenly everythings slowed to f*k and directx can't initialize, even for diagnostics.

This has happened on two of my machines now, a P4 1.8ghz 9600 512MB and an A64 3K+ 9800SE 512MB. So it looks like I'm doing something wrong. Anyone had anything similar, or know what I'm doing wrong?

which specific driver did you install?

Thats the weirdness - ANY driver. And it happened on both comps.

Did you delete the old drivers?
