Hello. I just reformatted my computer and reinstalled windows, as I have done nearly a dozen times before on this computer. Everything went smoothly, I've installed all the updates and such, but now I've run into the problem of ATI drivers after installing them. It doesn't let me remain in classic theme mode, and all sorts of icons are missing on my desktop and elsewhere, including in my browser.

I haven't changed any hardware, and I am fairly adept at keeping my software compatible, but I just don't see what the problem is here.

In my Catalyst Control Center, the options for AGP Read and AGP Write remain off, and when I turn them on and restart the computer, they still remain off, for a reason I cannot ascertain. They were able to be on before I reformatted my computer.

I've had driver problems too in the past, but not the stuff you describe. I had problems with Catalyst Control Centre. Anyway, it was fixed when I installed the drivers from the cd (that comes with the card) first, and then updated.

Hey, i'll try that! That might work. I'll come back and let you know if it did.

EDIT: No... the other drives didn't fix it when I installed them and then the latest ATI ones. However, they by themselves worked. But I want the latest drivers, so I might have to try Omega drivers. But it puzzles me, why the hell is it not working now with these drivers? I could of sworn those were the drivers I used just before reformatting.

Here's what it looks like by the way.

EDIT 2: Omega drivers working perfectly. Bizarre that the ATI ones no longer are. I've tried reinstalling them like 20 times doing various things including updating bios etc.

Tried the previous version? (7.6)

And be sure you have service pack 2 installed, the latest dotnetfix, directx, etc..

Yeah, I have service pack 2 installed, latest dotnetfix and directx. :(

Just going to use omega drivers.
