As stated on http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=17495 "The good thing to know is that driver is coming and ATI might get closer or even faster then Nvidia, it would be safe to say that it will at least get much closer performance wise than it's able to do now"

Prepair for war ATI brothers!

I wont get this game till I know for sure it will run decently on my 9800 pro

They said they havent changed their open gl drivers in over a year and for some reason the 4.8 betas open gl driver A has a newer date on the file and B is much better and fix's opengl errors in game... I call bull shiz on ATI for saying they havent been reworking the opengl.

I believe ATi. They'll pull through ;D But, as long as their cards run HL2 well, I wont be too concerned..

hopefully my x800pro will get a nice boost in FPS for doom3, kinda dissapointing to see how low of fps it got.

I trust the Inquirer just about as far as I can throw it. And considering it's a website, I can't throw it at all.

Wow. Just wow.

"OMFG ATI CARD IZ TEH 5 FPS SLOWER WITH 4XAA AND 8XAF AT 1600X1200! WHAT EVER WILL I DO!?!!??!?!111oneoneone"

Honestly, you can run the game at 1024x768 with a fair amount of AA and FSAA and get 60 FPS.. the game is capped at 60FPS, FFS.

/me ends his rant

They will probably bring up the performance of their x800 line, but I'm sure they have forgotten about us R300 owners.

Woops, I meant "a fair amount of AF and FSAA," not AA and FSAA (same thing!) :o

Jesus christ...thats pathetic, low fps? I should smack you.

He's got a point, even with X800 pro you wouldnt be able to run with high-quality and full fsaa/af which is what most people buy these cards for anyway.

Bleh bleh bleh, as long as it looks good on my 9800 pro and runs above 30 fps, Ill be teh happy.

yea yea yea, as long as my 5200 runs the game i will be happy

Weird guy, O_O

Low fps? So that means the older ati cards run like shit then? Dude, at the moment i have a gf 4 mx440. ( Soon new card ) But still, saying that is really like..weird. Yeah, if you want like the highest resolution, all details and stuff on, but really, im happy if i could decent fps with 1024x768 or 1200x1024 and with normal details. As long it looks good enough and not like some nintendo game ( gf mx440 makes my games look like it ).

Oh please, like 9800 Pro wasn't enough....Sure, if you're playing with ultra high details in 1600*1200 resolution, but isn't something like 1024*7xx enough

jeez, some people always have to get only the best

Yeah agree, my new card will be same as yours. Well its must be a very spoiled person if you ask me :| I cant even see much differences between resolutions. Oh well...

Yeah some people do have to get only the best, and they don't like spending lots of money on a brand-spankin-new graphics card only to be told you cant play the latest game the way its meant to be played.

He probably meant NES in a sarcastic way.
