VR-Zone has learned about some new details on 80nm R600 today and there will be 2 SKUs at launch; XTX and XT. There will be 2 versions of R600XTX; one is for OEM/SI and the other for retail. Both feature 1GB DDR4 memories on board but the OEM version is 12.4" long to be exact and the retail is 9.5" long. The above picture shows a 12.4" OEM version. The power consumption of the card is huge at 270W for 12" version and 240W for 9.5" version. As for R600XT, it will have 512MB of GDDR3 memories onboard, 9.5" long and consumes 240W of power. Lastly, there is a cheaper R600XL SKU to be launched at a later date.

12" long? that wont fit in my current case due to hd cage, it's 3 inches longer than my current card (which is already a tight squeeze) ..why would the oem and retail version be so vastly different? the XT version seems gutted in comparison to the XTX ...half the ram

and 240w needed for a graphics card? that's twice the consuption my graphic card needs now ..jeez unless they have a substantial performance boost ati's latest offerings dont exactly underwhelm nvidia's current offerings ..I think I read the R60 outperforms the 8800 by a margin of 20% but we'll see how the xt stacks up to the 8800gts ..a few extra frames per second isnt going to sell me on a much more expensive card

Looks rather redundant tbh. very useless.

The OEM version I do believe will be in systems like Dells, HP's, etc. DIY'ers will be looking at the Retail version which is 9.5".

why? I always buy oem cuz it's much cheaper ...made by ati cards come with nothing anyways

Wow, thats a beast. No way it would fit in my computer.

Lets hope it does actually out perform the 8800's otherwise ATi may be in trouble.

Surprisingly, that card will actually fit quite easily into my case.

Still... D:

server case? what the hell do you have an extended extended ATX case? EEATX?

my case is deep but wont fit that monstrosity ...I'd need a case with a removeable hard drive cage

I have the Antec P180 Super Mid Tower [edit: it's regular ATX apparently]. There's a removable HD cage directly in between my card and the air intake on the front, which I've removed to improve airflow. I have about 16 inches of space :D

ah ok ..always thought the p180 was cramped but I guess not if you have clearance ..what about in sli ..have enough room for 2 cards plus sound card/pci cards?

It'd be a tight fit, maybe 5-10mm of clearance between the card and the lower cage... but it'd work.

If I moved the HD's I could just about slot one in. Not that I would, with an Athlon 64 3000+ :p

Most workstation motherboards are 12-13" wide. Their cases would have the clearance. That is probably what the OEM version is aiming for so they didn't mind making it longer. Guess how wide regular ATX boards are? 9.6". So it should fit unless you have a tight case the covers up part of the motherboard.
