i have a 9800 pro 128 so im not lookin to upgrade for another year, but i kinda wish i held off a lil.

Actually that can be true, depending on game. A game such as Morrowind that does everything by pure poly pushing and zero finesse (except PS 1.1 water I think, which isnt exactly finesse either), could probably gain ALOT by PCI express and the increased gpu/memory speeds. For me, doubling FPS seems more than likely there. Doing it in a game such as Half Life 2 is more unlikely though, where its more limited by the shader speeds.
Edit: But if they double shader speeds of the 9800XT, that would be really impressive, hehe. You'd think that would be a physical impossibility, but then again, the R300 DID come out

With some luck this will push down the prices on older cards and allow me to get my 9600 XT cheaper
