man i cant wait for this game i cant believe it s been a year delay man the time goes quick

All it has to be above is 60 FPS, since the human eye can't tell past that.

Can someone inform as to what the point of this thread is? I can't seem to find anything that would warrant discussion. You're just saying how fast your card runs css (i'm happy for you :E ) but I don't see why we would need to know that. :borg:

Uhh....I have an X800Pro and I don't get 143....I play @ 1280x1024 with all details on High and AA AF all the way up. I get about 60-75

Lies. All lies! hehe 1 2
I get major headaches at 60Hertz.

That's pretty good framerate there, I'm around 80FPS at 1280x960 4xAA/16xAF (It varies from 70-120).

Where did you get the X800pro from?

My 9800 PRO sucks. Only gets 30-75 with AA on 2x and AF on Bi. I hate my card. I wish it were to die.

i got mine at allstarshop.com

Your FPS can only run as high as your monitors refresh rate I think. So if your your refresh rate is at 70 then 120 FPS wont look any different then 80FPS.

You can thank A2597 for posting this in a earler thread.

Set you refresh rate at 60 Hertz and play with it.
Then increase your refresh rate and test it out.

u guys' videocards don't sucks, it's probably the rest of ur computer that is bottlenecking ur computer. If u have a P4 3.2 and 1Gig ram, with any highend card, u can run css at 140.

You made your name...alan has an x800 pro....like its something to brag about.

Hell, I'd like to get that in CS:S but I can't test the computer since last update....damn no a/c :( I was getting on lan tho 70-90fps constant, but online for some reason dropped to 30-60fps...Its very strange.

and you're not satisfied with that?!
come on!

im getting at 1024, 60 refresh rate, AA 2x, AF tri, like 80-100 most of the time, is that good for my 9800 pro? whats the best refresh rate setting?

143 fps looking at the wall...that aint too impressive.

Yeah, and alone on his own empty server. Try takin a screenshot on a 20+ player server in a fire fight at full settings 1280x1024x32 or higher and tell me what you get.

no, he said 143 playing, 200+ when looking at a wall.

No, in his screenshot it shows 143 fps while being alone on his own server.

i was comparin 30 to 75, and i was like, wow thats shit load of diff

i think there must be something wrong with cs:source or my videocard or monitor or something.i have a 9800pro 128mb, p4 2,4gHz and 768 mb RAM and i only get 30fps no matter what resolution i have and with aa and af or whatever both on and off!

I use a radeon 9600 128m, 726ddr ram and amd athlon xp. I usely get at least 40fps, slowing down to 30 when alot is going on. Not the best speed in the world but I dont really care about anything over 60+ as I cant tell the difference.

My card runs CS:S well.

I have a Sapphire 9500 modded to a Radion 9700 and overclocked to near 9700 Pro specs.

All for the tasty price of $125.

Beat that for bang for the buck

why would you get a 9800pro 256 when you could get a geforce 6800nu for the same price and much much faster?

My basic system specification consists of an AMD 63 3200+, 1GB DDR, and an x800Pro, yet I roughly get 65-70fps with everything maxed out (all settings: high, water: reflect all, AAx6, AFx16) at 1280x1024.

Your rates seem perfectly normal to me.

I can also get around 100fps staring at a wall in either CS: Souce or test_hardware (the VST map)... But as with all games, frame rates fluctuate depending on what's happening within the engine and where you happen to be. For example, turn on fraps and try walking around the various spinning mirrors in the VST, and you certainly won't be getting over 100fps. It'll drop to around 40-50fps with an x800Pro coupled with a good system.
