Hi Guys,
The GW Films team is starting preproduction on our first HL2 machinima project. We are not your average group of movie makers - we've got a solid history going back several years:
Militia 2: ("best sound" @ 2002 Machinima Film Festival & awarded "Best of 2002" by Gamespy).
ClanWars: ("Best of 2004" by Gamespy & "Most influencial machinima films" top 10 list by machinimag.com)
complexity-redemption: (our latest 2005 documentary that is turning a lot of heads - set to air on TV in June.)
We are seeking a Half-Life 2 mapper (aka Art Director) who can work with the director to create extremely detailed, beautiful sets. A qualified person should have an interest (or expertiese) in cinematography, and use it to create cinematic lighting such as highlights, flares, light streaks, and have basic knowledge of camera elements like depth of field.
For those mappers who are still in the "I want to make a MOD" phaze: Machinima films are a great alternative to developing a full blown MOD to show off your talents. They are shorter to develop, require no long term commitment, yet get huge community responses and attract even audiences outside the gamer realm. Our Militia2 mapper now has a full time job at GearBox Software (Coincidence?)
Our HL2 project is a suspense-drama mini series. It will be released in low resolution to the public and HD resolution to paying members - similar to the RvB set up.
Contact me with some examples of your work, and let's make some art!
