Audio editing software.

Hey guys, I am in need of good audio editing program. Doesn’t have to be free, I have money to pay for it. I just did 3d animation short, now I need to record some sounds and edit some of the music I used in this piece. I am total newbie to audio editing/recording, so I don’t need super program with million different functions. I want something simple, but effective, for everyday use (for example I want give metallic voice to my robot). Thanks in advance.

I've heard good things about Adobe Audition, you might want to take advantage of the 30 day tryout to see if you like it.
