Audio/Graphics Performance Question

Ok .... I've currently got a Asus K8NE motherboard w/ 64 bit amd. It has integrated sound with AC97 audio, which I am currently using. This is a good integrated sound card, but my question is if I plug in my old Soundblaster Live audio card, despite the fact that sound may be worse, will I get a fps improvement?

Anything on-board eats up CPU cycles, so pluging in a PCI Sound Card and disabling the on-board might give you a little FPS boost, but probably not all that much.
